ABOUT
Magician Muthukad hails
from the agrarian ambience of Nilambur, the village renowned for
the plush of teak forests in the Malappuram District of Kerala.
His full name being Gopinath Muthukad, this ‘man of magic’ is a
darling ‘Gopi’ to close pals and ‘Indian Houdini’ for the magic
fans around the world. His debut on the magic stage was at the
tender age of 10. After his graduation in Mathematics from
N.S.S. College, Manjeri, deep passion for magic has prohibited
him from taking another degree in Law.
Having crossed three glittering decades of magical career,
Muthukad upholds his unique motto, ‘Magic with a Mission’. By
way of pioneering the use of magic as a medium for spreading
virtuous messages, he has become a role model for his
counterparts. His frankness to remain close to the people and
readiness to hand over his magical knowledge to discerning
candidates are a pair more of his impressive qualities. With a
deep inward lean for the cause of popularising the art of magic,
in 1996, he has established a Magic Academy in
Thiruvananthapuram, known as the Asia’s first academy for
obtaining scientific and systematic learning in the magical art.
His performances inclined to the very cause of social uplift
have earned huge admiration from national leaders of India,
including the President Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam and the Prime
Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh.
By virtue of his ever-new magical entertainment named,
Muthukad’s World of Magic, he has become an entertainer of
global demand.
His inclination towards innovation and showmanship has
transformed him into an icon of imaginative magic. And his
readiness to break the conventional glass seal to come down from
the ivory towers of popularity to use magic as a means for
social service, has also earned him the unique title: 'Man of
Magic'. And it was this quality that has prompted him to do more
charity for celebrating 30th anniversary of his magical career.
His boldness to hand down his magical knowledge to
discerning youngsters is yet another quality that has gifted him
an admirable image - of course one major quality that has also
turned a section of his conservationist counterparts envious. |
